Volunteer Positions

Front Desk Host

Put the best of you forward! When working at the Front Desk you will be the face of the Festival answering questions about all the Festival events as well as handing out Festival passes to participants. This is a key position as you will help people to get the most of their Festival experience. You need to be able to work under stress and have good communication and social skills.

Artist Host

This is an exciting position since you are representing the Festival to the artist. You will be in close contact with the artist from their arrival to Uppsala and throughout their concert. You will welcome and guide the artist inside the venue and make sure the artist has everything he/she needs. English, Spanish, Italian, Corean are languages we seek for these positions.

Driver / Airport Host

Drivers are crucial for picking up and dropping off the artists. You will mainly be in charge of giving a friendly welcome to the artists at Arlanda airport. If you know your way around Uppsala and have a valid driving license this is the job for you. We will provide you with a car. We need drivers before and after the Festival as well. English, Spanish, Italian, Corean are languages we seek for these positions.

Guitar Fair Host

In this position your main task is to help the Guitar Fair Coordinator on October 10, 11 and 12. You will help out by preparing the tables before the arrival of the Guitar Fair exhibitors, help the exhibitors to transport their goods upon arrival and departure, and during the Guitar Fair in the evening when they want to put their goods in the safe room. Upon the exhibitors arrival, they might also need help with other things like getting information kit, tickets, extra tables & chairs.

Usher

Ushers mainly control tickets by the door to the workshops and master classes. You will  count and report the number of participants at concerts, workshops, master classes, and seminars. You will also answer questions from the public and be a helping hand for people attending the Festival. When time allows, you give an extra hand where help is needed.

Seller

You will have a specific location inside the venue and you will be in charge of selling artists CD´s and marketing material of the Festival, such as posters, t-shirts, etc. For this position you should feel comfortable interacting with people and dealing with numbers. Intermediate level of Swedish required.

Logistics 

These volunteers will hang out banners, carrying boxes, see to it that the backdrop is in place before the concert starts, moving some furniture if needed. 

Public Relations 

Are you social and have good communication skills? Then this is the right position for you! As a PR person you will be welcoming people to the Festival and distribute the program magazine in town before and during the Festival, as well as handing out programs at the entrance of UKK before the concerts. You will answer questions regarding the facilities and promoting social media contests.

Exhibition Host to the Guitar Fair and the Festival Photo exhibition

Your main task will be welcoming people to the exhibition, counting the number of attendants and taking care of the exhibited material.

Floater / Back-up team

You can’t make up your mind which position you like best? You want to try a little bit of everything and are willing to jump in where ever needed? This is the best option for you! You just need to read all the other volunteer positions here to get a sense of what you might do as floater.

As a back-up you will be called in with short notice in case things get very busy, or to cover someone´s shift if we get some last-minute cancelation. This position is important as you will save the situation!
